Rovio have recently announced that gaming sensation, Angry Birds has flown past half a billion downloads.
Mikael Hed, the chief executive at Rovio, claimed that it’s the most downloaded game in the history of gaming.
The franchise that Angry Birds has produced has made Rovio well over $70 million since its first release on the iOS operating system in December 2009.
It shows no signs of slowing down either with releases on almost all platforms.
Upon discussing the games rapid growth on stage at the Slush Conference in Helsinki, Mikael Hed said:
“This is a fantastic landmark achievement for us, and we’re extremely delighted to see such an incredible amount of people enjoying out games.” He went on to finish, “We remain committed to creating more fun experiences and bringing exceptional quality to Angry Birds fans everywhere.”
With Rovio having huge success in the mobile development industry it’s hard not too follow their lead.
A short article will be coming in the next couple of weeks on what skills and expertise are required to start developing apps.
