Norwegian world swimming champion Alexander Dale Oen has died during a training camp in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Per Rune Eknes, the President of the Norwegian Swimming Federation, confirmed that Dale Oen had died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The 100m breaststroke world champion was found collapsed on his bathroom floor after training in Flagstaff on Monday evening.
The 26-year-old swimmer won the 100m breaststroke at the World Championships in Shanghai last July and also won silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Dale Oen was one of Norway’s top medal hopes for the London Olympics.
